My name is Roope Koski. I'm a 28-year-old aspiring game developer and designer from Helsinki Finland. I have a Bachelor's degree in Sales and am soon to be Bachelor of ICT engineer (Game Applications). I've been designing games for the past 2,5 years and have experience in game, level, systems and UI design. I'm a people's person with strong business background and talent for producing.
I am currently working as a Junior QA Tester at Remedy Entertainment. My previous experience is from Electria R&D Unit at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences where I was working on a VR project as game designer trainee. I have experience as part-time teacher teaching a class on game design and game development. I've also worked a year at Metropolia Game Studio as a game designer. At the Game Studio we did customer projects mainly focusing on serious gaming and gamification. I've also worked on a handful of school projects turned personal projects. Last May I had one of my personal projects "Hunters of Hubertus" accepted into Digitalents Helsinki pre-incubation program. With few like-minded talented individuals we developed a demo for the game and are now planning to publish the game by the end of 2018.
What drove me into game industry was a desire to be part of the world that has given me some of my most cherished memories. Underlying motivation for me in life and in my career is to understand people and have an impact on people's lives. I want to affect people. Make them feel. Be it thousands of people or just one person. That's why I'm on this journey. I have creative mind that's rooted in to a calm and calculative personality and I aim to use it to make great games.
